Our story
Founded out of UC Berkeley, the birthplace of Conversion was just down the street from Sproul Plaza at a local hair salon in Berkeley. Our cofounder James learned that his small salon he visited for years was paying thousands of dollars to a marketing agency without seeing real results.
The core idea around Conversion came from overwhelmingly unintuitive discovery: the quality of the marketing agency hired by a small business is a larger lever in the success of the business than the quality of the goods or services the business provides. We have worked tirelessly since to provide AI-powered services to help all businesses level the playing field and help mom and pop shops compete with the largest businesses in the world in the most crucial marketing functions.
Since then, we have raised over $28M in funding, grown to over $6M ARR, thousands of customers, and are funded by some of the world's leading investors, including True Ventures, Abstract Ventures, HOF Capital, Antler Ventures, and more. We are revolutionizing marketing - and we couldn't be more excited.

Celebrating milestones
We work relentlessly and have high expectations, but remember to celebrate our wins. A team boat cruise at $1M ARR and driving yellow buggies around SF at $5M ARR are some examples of the way we celebrate the hard work.
Annual offsite
We celebrate the end of the year with an annual team offsite. Our 2024 yearly offsite was in Hawaii! It was a great opportunity to bond as a team, brainstorm an ambitious and successful 2025, and catch some waves.
Team rituals
Bringing new employees to Na'Pizza, acai bowl fridays, an annual fantasy football league, and movie nights for quarterly product launches help us build community and inspire our best work.
