Conversion Cockroach Labs
Built for the Cockroach Labs marketing team

Run Cockroach Labs' campaigns on Snowflake data directly

Product usage already sits in Snowflake, and getting it into Marketo means another imported object and another sync to babysit. Conversion is the agentic marketing automation platform that reads your warehouse natively and puts agents on the campaign builds a lean ops team cannot absorb.

The challenge

PLG signals in Snowflake, a MAP that cannot see them

Your usage and fit data live in the warehouse. Marketo needs it copied into custom objects first, and even then the campaign still has to be built by hand.

Warehouse data has to be copied in

Product usage and event data sit in Snowflake, but Marketo has no native warehouse connection. Activating it means an imported object, a new field to map, and middleware to maintain before a single nurture fires.

Custom objects are second-class

Read-only in smart lists, limited triggers, rigid relationships. The account and technographic objects your team relies on cannot drive the workflows you want to build on top of them.

Every asset is a hand build

Campaign briefs, email builds, form builds, and the review round trips between them. A lean ops team spends its week producing assets instead of designing the motions that need them.

Conversion Agents

From campaign brief to built and QA'd

Agents take the brief, build the audience, draft the emails and forms, and QA the send before it goes out. Every agent is permission-scoped and approval-first, so your ops team reviews and signs off instead of building from scratch.

The brief becomes the campaign

A request in plain English becomes an audience, a draft campaign, and a pre-send QA pass. Your team reviews the output rather than assembling it, and the review is where the expertise actually pays.

PLG signals that start the work

When usage in Snowflake crosses a threshold or an account's fit changes, an agent picks it up, drafts the nurture, and routes it for approval. The play starts without waiting for a free slot on the roadmap.

The data layer

Snowflake product usage, queryable inside your MAP

Connect Snowflake and Salesforce natively, custom objects included, so product events, account fit, and opportunity context sit in one place. Tables and views become segmentable objects with no import step and no middleware in between.

Your smart campaigns, custom objects, and the rest of it

The programs, smart lists, scoring models, forms, and templates your instance runs today all carry across, plus the warehouse objects Marketo could never hold natively. Reporting and attribution are included as part of the platform, with multi-touch models from first touch through closed won, so measurement does not become a separate project after the move. Consolidating does not mean giving anything up.

Forms & Pages

Build branded forms and landing pages that feed directly into your workflows. No need for separate tools.

CRM Sync & Auditing

Enterprise Salesforce sync with bidirectional updates, conflict resolution, and full audit logs.

Reporting

Campaign performance tied to pipeline and revenue by persona, segment, and lifecycle stage.

Liquid Templating

Advanced personalization with Liquid syntax for conditional content, loops, and dynamic blocks.

A/B Testing

Test subject lines, content, send times, and workflows to optimize every touchpoint.

RBAC Controls

Fine-grained role-based access control for teams. Enterprise-grade permissions.

The migration

A parallel run, not a leap of faith

Moving a mature Marketo instance to a newer platform is a real risk to weigh. Marketo stays live while Conversion runs alongside it, and nothing is cut over until it has been verified against the original.

Forward-deployed engineers run it

FDEs migrate your workflows, lists, templates, and scoring models, then QA every component before anything goes live.

About 1-2 hours a week from your team

For roughly three weeks. That's the full time commitment while the migration runs in the background.

Parallel run, zero downtime

Nothing is cut over until every workflow has been verified against the Marketo original. No dark period, no lost sends.

A team that stays embedded

Deployment strategists work inside your marketing org through launch and beyond, with structured workshops in the first weeks and as many as your team wants after.

Used by MOps teams replacing Marketo, Pardot, and HubSpot.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Teams running mature Marketo instances are our primary customers. Every migration is led by a dedicated deployment strategist, with forward-deployed engineers moving your programs, smart lists, email templates, and scoring models. The average timeline is about four weeks, running in parallel with Marketo the whole way, and nothing is cut over until it has been verified against the original. The platform is SOC 2 Type II certified with role-based access control and full Salesforce sync audit logging.

Yes. Conversion connects natively to Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, and PostgreSQL. Tables and views become usable objects in the platform: available in segments, personalization, and workflow triggers, alongside your Salesforce custom objects. Marketing ops configures it in the UI, no engineering tickets required.

Attribution comes with the platform. Conversion ships reporting and attribution as a product, Mosaic, running on the same data as the MAP, with multi-touch models from first touch through closed won. Because every touch runs through Conversion and syncs to Salesforce, including campaign membership and status, campaign performance is tied directly to pipeline and revenue, and it breaks down by persona, segment, and lifecycle stage. Your team can also ask in plain language how many MQLs a segment produced last quarter and what happened to them, so measurement is not a second system to wire up and reconcile.

Inflection is a capable lifecycle email and journey tool, strong at product-led messaging, and it was not built as a full MAP. There is no attribution model and no pipeline or revenue reporting, so measurement means exporting to your warehouse and building it yourself in Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Hex. Salesforce sync is bi-directional on Leads and Contacts only, with Campaigns, Accounts, and Opportunities read-only, and there is no Programs equivalent for tokens, assets, or duplication. Account scoring exists, but the scores stay inside Inflection and never reach Salesforce. There are no landing pages and no ABM product, and their agents draft for a human to activate rather than running on a schedule. Conversion was built to replace Marketo end to end, including programs, custom objects, attribution, and account-level work.

The recurring operational work: ticket intake and triage, audience building from plain-English requests, pre-send campaign QA, list hygiene, and sync monitoring. Every agent is permission-scoped, approval-first, and fully auditable, so your team reviews anything before it ships.

About one to two hours a week from your team, for roughly three weeks. Forward-deployed engineers do the migration work, a dedicated deployment strategist runs the process end to end, and Marketo keeps running the entire time.

No. The platform is built for marketing operations teams at enterprise companies, but common tasks like building emails, creating segments, and launching workflows are straightforward. Teams evaluating both consistently tell us Conversion is more capable without being harder to use.
